I am not an edinburgh taxi or private hire driver, but work just outside in east lothian.
On a saturday nite 50% of my hires are to or from edinburgh. all taxi drivers speak and know of the problems of private hires (NOT ALL) picking of the street in edinburgh.
Its getting bad when they are even taken hires back to my district and given very big discount.From Edinburgh to Tranent is around £25. I was on my way to Collet my return fare this saturday nite booked for 3am when my fare called and told me just to cancel they had just asked a private hire on the street and he going to take them home for a set price £16 . how can we win
