Found out one of my headlight bulbs had blown this morning and have been thinking about buying a pair of upgraded xenon types.

Are they worth the extra, anything up to £25 as against about £6 for standard one’s.

Anyone tried them and got any recommendations?

I have ordered some Osram Siverstar, they are not a high wattage type which can melt your reflector but have the gas and filament tweaked to give a claimed 50% more light output.

They were £12.99 delivered although when they will get delivered what with the postal strike I don’t know. I will road test them when I get them and report back as to whether I think they are any good or not.

Very funny batus

I got the bulbs today and tried them out.

Just put one in to start off with to see if there was any difference.

Visually the new bulb does look brighter that the other and I also checked it with a photographic light meter which bore out that it was indeed brighter.

These bulbs are over twice the price of an ordinary bulb but they sure aren’t twice as bright……worth buying?

Maybe
