Hello Im a new female hackney driver in Gloucestershire. I bought the new tw200 in December 07 and have been driving it for the last few months. Some of the main problems are: 1. the floor height is far too high for passengers to get into - the electric step sits too low and is frequently caught on speed bumps which damages it and stops it working. 2. Because floor height is too high, the floor to ceiling height is too low - wheelchair users cannot fit into it if they are sat on a pressure cushion or special seating system (its about 4 or 5 inches lower than a tx). 3. The switch for releasing the belts to strap a wheelchair into the cab has to be held down and is in the front- so you need extremely long arms to achieve this. 4.The front cab cannot be locked when the rear doors are open - big safety issue! 5.very difficult to order new parts as the chassis number seems incorrect. 6. All parts are ordered from Italy, nothing is in stock in the UK so it takes forever. 6. The ramp is awkward and it often blocks so very difficult to put away. 7. some of the finnish is poor - inside doors are made of chipboard and so swell when they get wet. 8. I have a full fixed front seat and due to very limited leg room can only carry very short passengers or children.
Apart from this the tw200 is nice to drive although the turning circle is not great.
