Sadly the lot of the taxi driver is getting worse; costs going up, revenue going down.  There are more occasions when passengers would rather spend their last few quid on a drink than keep it for the taxi home.  Then they either bilk or possibly assault the driver for his money.

Protect yourselves - get an in-vehicle surveillance system. Take pictures of the passengers when they get in or out, when you put the meter or off.  Use equipment that stores them in solid state memory; less prone to failure than disc.  Even record sound if you want.  Ensure that the compression/encryption of the images as they are stored does not result in loss of deatil when they are downloaded.

Talk to me, , about our systems which handle all the above, and more.  Get yourselves protected and stop the low-life attacking you.
