TAXI DRIVERS STRIKE OVER LICENCES
Taxi drivers on the Isle of Man are to go on strike overnight over government plans to remove restrictions on the number of licences issued.
The plans would also enable the cabs to operate island-wide instead of restricting them to certain areas.
The strike is due to take place between 1130 BST on Friday and 0130 BST on Sunday, usually a very busy period.
Police are urging people planning to go out in Douglas to make alternative arrangements for their journey home.
