A tyre on the taxi was punctured

A crossbow has been fired at a taxi travelling through the Bogside area of Londonderry.
The bolt punctured the tyre of the car on the Lecky Road on Friday night.
There were no passengers in the car and the driver was unhurt. Eamon O'Donnell from the North West Taxi Proprietors said someone could have been killed.
Mr O'Donnell said someone in the area must know who is responsible for the attack.
"We're highlighting this to the local community, hoping that somebody out there knows and can take that crossbow off them young people," he said.
"We're calling for anybody with any influence in that area to use that influence to tell these people to desist from attacking taxis and especially to desist from firing a crossbow in an area where there's people about.
"If that crossbow ricochets and goes anywhere the potential for fatality is huge."
