A scheme to prevent trouble at Jersey's Weighbridge taxi rank at weekends could have to end because money to pay for it is running out.
Marshals were introduced last year and have been a success, said a group which campaigns to make town safer.
But the money for the marshals, provided by the States, has nearly run out and the Safer St Helier Group is calling for private sponsorship.
The marshals are on duty on Saturday nights until the early hours.
Colin Russell from Safer St Helier said: "It's been such a success we want to continue with it, but the problem lies with funding.
"We are running out of money and we don't want to withdraw the scheme that has been so successful.
"We are desperate to find any corporate sponsors who could fund this for the next year."
