Driver trapped in taxi for hours
A taxi driver was trapped in his cab for nearly two hours following a road crash in Coventry.
Emergency crews were called to the scene, in Stoney Stanton Road, just before 0300 GMT.
Paramedics said the taxi driver, treated for leg and pelvic injuries, may have suffered more serious injuries if he had been bigger built or taller.
Two women, in their 20s, who had been travelling in the taxi were also treated for serious injuries.
One of the women had serious facial injuries and the second woman had a broken leg and suspected spinal injuries.
Both women, and the taxi driver were taken to University Hospital for Coventry and Warwickshire by ambulance.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision was also taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries.
