Hi all,

This is my first messege on this forum and i just want some general feedback.

I have recently started as a hackney driver in Sunderland and i hire a cab off the owner on a weekly basis. My question is i like the job very much and i was wondering would i be better off buying my own cab and plate but i am not sure how much these would  go for and if the amount you would have to pay would work out cost effective in the long run.

any help would be great,

I would normally say buy your own but I have no idea how much plates go for in your area or what your potential takings are.

You will have to find these things out first so you can do your sums, also find out if there is any sign of deregulation on the horizon as that would make your plate worthless.

Why don't you get a proper job???
