Is this possible?
they must do cos i heard they pay for adutls to take their edcation again and stuff like security licences and forklift etc.

Wanna go for a local taxi private hire licence so not sure if they will pay for it

hi gunner, yes it is possible ive recruited 2 drivers on a scheme the job centre runs for people that have been unemployed for a number of years, they payed there badge fees etc, until they got back to work make enquiries at the job centre and good luck, also try going round the taxi firms and seeing if they will put you through you badge  some will and take it back as you start to earn

might just give it a try,

im in the luton area and the local council taxi age is 21 but i know loads of people who are only 19 and have already passed their test.
im 20

also could you find out what the schemne by the jobcentre is called?
does it also pay for the medical and the crb and everything?

im actually on the new deal option now which is for people who have been on the dole for over 6 months

hello again mate,

i went to jobcentre and my advisor said they dont do this sort of thing,
any chance you could find out what this scheme is called so i could prove to her that it does exist cos shes refusing to accept that there is a scheme like this,

if you could find out what the scheme was then it would be a great help

hi gunner, the scheme was  sorted out by an organization called WORKING LINKS, they apparentley work with the long term unemployed to get them back in employment, im sure if your local job centre made enquires they would find some info, cant see them operateing just in the north west, it was about 2 years ago since 2 of my drivers used the scheme to obtain a badge, have you made any enquires with your local taxi firms, to see if they will put you through your badge worth a try   regards   glenn
