19 Feb 2008 7:11 PM Alert

I know that the GMB get there bums smacked for talking / debating with me but in all seriousness I never have asked the vital question ?

Hyperthetically....If someone like me was to join the GMB....
How much per month or per annum will you (GMB)pay me ?
I mean would it be worth it to me financially ?
Of course there will be terms and conditions that I would want to be implemented and some representatives re-positioned so they would lower the embarrassment factor of the GMB but thats beside the point...

How much would I be paid If I joined you lot. ?

Steve

Taxis, I don't think you've quite got this union thing worked out.
You pay the union a small sum to help improve working conditions in the industry and to provide you with back-up and support when the sh1t hits the fan and sprays all over you.
These things cost a small amount of money, so no you dont get paid to be in the union.

i'd of thought terry would have to get his posts on here okayed now as he's only the branch sec for london and not the provinces.
as the majority on here are from the provinces surely if he's debating with us on a national scale he should get advice on such matters as he's only the national organiser outside of london so this sounds to me that he's no clout or experience or knowledge on the national trade so either he keeps his gob shut on such things or just keeps to within in london.

what does the national secretary have to say on terry's posts?

me thinks terry needs reeling in a bit and putting a muzzle on

Plato way off the beam old son, Unions operate in unity through committees I will always publish an honest opinion occasionally on legal issues I will take advice before posting. Most definitely not on National political issues for that is entirely within my remit.Organisational issues can sometimes be parochial and I will frequently consult with other members in various locations including London. The GMBs clout is of course Nationwide 112 MPs! and not in any individuals pocket. I and ALL officers are answerable to the National Ctte on all aspects of our operation. Hope thats helped a bit, no question of shutting someones GOB as you put it! Mind if you were amember you could of course have your views debated. until then no more explanations!!

Hello Fox...Terry will Protect your username anyways as he has stuck his nose into that as well.
That’s another story.....
You said...gmb seem to be the union in the know here
Because it is the only union here...They use this forum to advertise the union, and spout on the way they do.
You said....unfortunately Maggie Thatcher did away with our  industry
About the mining industry, most of those had to be heavily subsidized to keep them open and there comes a point when the subsidies you put in are no longer worth it..
FACT..
The Thatcher years were a turning point for the
UK. Before Thatcher the old industries were still struggling along, subsidized by the taxpayer. No one noticed that this was killing off any chance for new industries to take their place...FACT
The pure greed of the unions brought the industry to its knees.
Simply put, she was one of the finest leaders this country has ever seen. Difficult problems require difficult decisions and unlike today's "wimps", she could deliver.
I have said it before and I will say it again with meaning...
She ( Mrs Margaret Thatcher ) created opportunities and allowed enterprise to escape the trappings of unionism. ........
FACT
And the Fact is this...Margaret Thatcher's name is always likely to provoke an opinion - whether it is an expression of devotion or one of extreme dislike.
Love her or hate her...She looked after the people who wanted to work and make money.

You will be more than welcome here seems you think the same as the MAJORITY....
Terry will love you, he will educate you alright...maybe after he bores you to death.

Other options are available for drivers! Those options are just as effective ….. or more effective than unions!
It’s Just you do not know the options.

But I am not about to advertise the options, or sell my wares on a forum that does not support the peoples voice (The Minority)..

Be happy.....
I take control of my destiny...the unions will take control of yours...

But its all to do with opinions !!! It makes neither one of us a bad person !!!!
But in Terrys eyes all NON - GMB members are Bad people...

Regards Steve

If he will offfer me a salery worthy of my input I would consider the position !!!!
But for now...

I will talk to the LO when he / she stops me for some reason !! No problem !!!!!

By saying this do you suggest that no driver has the capability to hold a logical and reasonable debate that will actually hold water without been part of a union ?

I am one of  Margaret Thatcher's entrepreneur's who can not and will not be dependant or beholding to ANY one source.

Brainwashed is maybe a better summary !!!
Look at SLC....thats what happens eventually.. Sad isnt it !

Regards Steve

hi terry, firstly let me make something perfectly clear i am my own man, i make my own choices and i fight for whats right if i dissagree i say so, regarding the  coal mines with respect you had to be in it to understand it, the so called FACTS that you put where puplished at the time by the tory papers on a massive scale to turn puplic opion against the miners and it worked obviously, regarding subsidized mines i worked ay several profit deep mined pits, that never should have been closed with years of coal still available to be mined, FACT, as for the thatcher years being a turning point yes it was  but only for privatashion of more or less evry industry in england that could make a profit, allowing the fat cats to get richer. ELETRICITY BOARD, WATERBOARD, to name a few FACT by the way what new industys cant say ive noticed many.she created opportunities you say would that have been the one where she allowed council tenants to buy there own homes at huge prices just to take the burden of the local council, who then doubled the council tax, yeh she was a legend ok, and finaly steve   now that oil and gas are runing out guess what, there looking at opening up the mines again your right life is about options and choices i fully respect yours. mine were taken away by one person maggie, who in my opion should have looked 15 years down the road and not just at profit or loss as you understand it, i wish you luckselling your wares regards glenn bulcock

Glen i will leave you to decide whether this kunt knows what hes talking about. During your battle i was a Fleet St Printer and from Fleet St we raised over £i million for your magnificient cause i once spemt 6 weeks in Donnie where strangely enough scab mini cab drivers vehicles who drove through picket lines self ignited, what ashame. The most disgustung filth were of course the met,we took them on some time later at Wapping. Listen mate nothing has changed all workers need Unionisation the GMBPDB s need to recruit Associations such as yours, and of course ASSs to be effective need to join us you wouldnt have dreamt of organising one pit would you, of course not so why imagine you can organise against The Govt and LAs in isolation. When you return we need to meet, dont ignore the lessons of history yours and mine to have a voice you must organise Nationally.

And Terry what exactly do you mean by this ?
Excuse me if I have read it wrong but this could be taken as a threat to my family !

And I am well within my right to take it as a threat because you openly admit been a law breaker !

So explain yourself !

You do not have the right to make any personal comments about my family !!!!
