My wife is from Dudley and she says that you are regulated as to color in the UK because of the idiot criminals attacking people in fake taxi's. In the States, we are not regulated. I myself want my cars painted like NASCAR race cars and paint the businesses advertising on them instead of using signs mounted on my cars. Im also installing dvd players so my customers can watch music videos. Your rarely in a taxi more than 10 minutes but it is a psychological thing and it keeps them calling me. After all would you want to ride in a plain taxi or a cool taxi with music videos for the same price? Dont misunderstand me. Were not regulated like the UK but we dont just have it made either. We do have as many problems as the UK. I was shot in a robbery and had many people jump and run without paying. All of my out of town trips require payment in advance. As far as color, my cars are Yellow Cab Company but with different colors. My personal car is a mercury grand marquis and has yellow stripes painted down the sides with my sons name on the doors and our phone number. My minivan is a pontiac trans sport and is gold with just my sons name and our number on the doors with a yellow top light. Ill post a pic sometime for you. My wife and son are from the UK and I honor my 7 year old son and I put JAKE'S on the doors so half the people dont call it Yellow lol. They call it Jakes. My business licence says Yellow Cab but with Jake in Quotation marks.

hi yellowcab2008,

nice to see you on here and welcome.

do you have licensing areas where you are?

if so are you restricted to how many cabs are licensed within that area
or is it a case of the number of cabs finds its own natural ceiling on
numbers as per amount of work in each area?

are you aware of hackney carriage, and private hire which we have over here?
