Steve just for fun...WE HAVE HERD! THAT YOUR FAVOURITE TV PROGRAMME IS "ONE MAN AND HIS DOG" seems that they are all trying to be IN --DE--PEN-- DEN--T drivers!!!!!!! well i personally wish you good luck with your drive towards councils flocking to attempt to teach us how to drive at some additional financial costs to us . by the way have you herd ,that nvqs are given away in cereal boxes as the more that pass ensures continued funding for the service provider. As originally stated i wish you good luck but again reiterate that consultation prior to putting up your petition would have helped your cause, regards Don

What a load of garbage .................... do you know who awards the NVQ Mr President ?????????????????????????

Scaremongering or mis-informing ............................ seems to be the ploy of everyone who feels threatened by the positive actions of others.

Still ................................... its a sunny day.

Terry, Dons not right .................... I don't know what you think you smelt buddy but I smell a rat here .................. and as a person involved in the provision of Vocational Training within our sector I would be very interested in any allegations you may wish to make about anyone who gives out either a NVQ or VRQ within our sector without going through the defined channels of validation.

Again the union seem to readily tar a whole sector with the same brush as the worst proponant .............. the attempt seems to be that the GMBPDB seeks some kind of monopoly on every aspect of the Hire and Reward industry and nothing seems to be considered as being good for the trade if it doesn't have a GMB seal of approval.

The courses I have a hand in putting together are comprehensive, and cover every aspect of the trade in which we work ................ where we see any aspect not included we seek to include it and then apply for it to be officially included as part of the overall award.

Eventually it is our intention for the course not only to be free (something that the organisation I work for and myself had a major hand in) but also we are into negotiations to get drivers paid for the time it takes them to complete the course.

So Terry and Don ........................ your allegations that the training providers are giving away NVQ's to ensure continued funding has absolutely no basis ................... however if you have proper evidence (and not just an idea) that some providers are not following the correct procedures then let me know who and where they are and I will contact the awarding body (I have their ear) and I will arrange fopr their accreditation to be removed along with any funding.

The continued agenda of hatred, unsubstanciated allegation and berating of a whole sector does nothing to promote the organisation you represent.

Only my humble opinion of course.

Micjk i have EVERY trust in you to personally organise and educate NVQs honestly, and i applaud your commitment and nobody is critising any part of your project or aims, and of course as you well know the GMB will give every possibble assistance to you to achieve those aims. There is of course a big world out there and we have knowledge that i am not prepared to publish, maybe one day when we are together i will brief you! One thing for sure if there were just 10.000 drivers with your commitment this industry would not be in appalling state it is, a decent living providing a vital service could be achieved in reasonable hours and maybe a safer enviroment. We have no intention of rubbishing anything from anyone if it is beneficial. No obviously the GMB does not have the monopoly on the good ideas, but we do have the organisation and clout to ensure those ideas access the highest level and are taken very seriously.Pooling resourses as we do in London with DECENT propretors orgs works, and of course we wish to do that nationwide. a problem is identyfying them! This lesson needs to be learnt which occassionally leads to volatile debate, so what were all grown up! only the most pathectic will be ignored!

Keep up the excellent work, keep us plugged in as to how you achieved what you have, we will do our best to ensure its copied NATIONWIDE.

No cost training, with loss of earnings incorporated is the future YOU are in the lead CONGRATULATIONS, in LONDON we are not far behind you so the outlook is GOOD?????????????????????????????

EDUCATION AT POINT OF NEED WITH LOSS OF EARNINGS OUR RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don ................. the person from my area requested information ................. I will supply him with that no probs, and then help him with whatever I can.

With regard the other issues I will repeat what I have wrote on the other site.

The NVQ doesn't have any testing, there are no questions and therefore no answers.

The work done is verified three times and by at least one independant person.

These claims that the system is manipulated for profit are the reason these courses should only be offered by local colleges who because they are overseen by the local authority, LEA, LSC to name just three, are best placed to ensure provision of training to the same standards every time and a level of fairness not influenced by profit or other financial gain.

For the younger or new people fox there is a VRQ which is classroom based and provides the knowledge and understading of the trade before they get involved in it .................... the NVQ shows a person competance in carrying out what they have learned either through experience of previous vocational training.

When ran properly, they are hugely beneficial.

Your inferance that any non-union member is a SCAB does little to promote membership.

It shouldn't be necessary to advise that the word PROFESSIONAL is within the title of your branch.
