Jesus Christ get your head bitten off for stating a few facts.

Have to say my ghast is completely flabbered that Hopper knew about Thomas Paine after all The Rights of Man and  the Age of Reason was written two hundred and thirteen and two hundred and thirty plus years ago.

Still as you are aux faix with the great man who contributed more to humanity than all of the butcher Generals and Admirals wrapped in their union Jack aprons did in the name of their Kings and Queens how about a suggested course of action

Stop using our rejection of a Feudal out of date monarchy as an excuse for not doing what needs to be done.

How about using a bit of reason to promote the rights of man. In our case the right to go to work on a Friday or Saturday night without fear of getting your f*cking heads kicked in by pissed up, powdered up scum.

Join the union, get active build the campaign for government funding for licensing authorities to pay for cctv’s, panic buttons, training and whatever other implements and methods are needed to make our jobs safer.

Or perhaps things like this are better left unsaid

As the Minicab Gen Sec of the GMB doesn't want to debate the Road Safety Act on the other thread, let's debate his new found issue of taxi plate limitation.
As he knows nothing of the hackney carriage trade, then I will start with an easy question for him.
If restricting hackney plates is so good, why doesn't the Minicab Gen Sec of the GMB propose limiting Minicab plates?

So now the Gen Sec of the Minicab GMB doesn't want taxi limits nationwide even though he said

As for Clacton they want Hack plates limited who agrees with that policy nationwide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And kept on about it

What about the HACK issue???????????????????

What about Hack plates, restricted or not????????????????????????

So I'm guessing you should have a view on it if it's such an important issue for a minicab driver.

So please answer these questions for me, or will you have to ask your experts about this as well?

1) Why should an area have taxi restrictions, but not minicab restrictions?
2) How many of your members wouldn't have taxi plates (if you have any taxi members) if your new policy of taxi restrictions was in place 10 years ago?
3) How do you intend to change your Labour party policy of saying restrictions are a bad thing, when you can't even get full access to London bus lanes for your minicabs?

Let's have this right Hopper I do not think you are a brainless moron but what brains you have would appear to be used to deliberately avoid the issues.

Don't think that setting a false precedent won't be noticed either trying to imply that I am only forwarding opinions when facts are there for all to see

Was your kin hero Horatio physically challenged or not it, was a fact and no-one holds that against him. Alright as far as the mans sexuality goes it is neither here nor there and anyway we only have Lady Hamilton's word for it but her husband allegedly enjoyed the ménage trios as well. The kiss me Hardy thing was a bit of a giveaway and the nickname "Horn blower," it doesn't take a genius does it. Did the battle of Trafalgar determine naval dominance or not, allowing the British ruling class to plunder the colonies at will. When the natives got restless, well, what’s a man meant to do with his gatling gun.

Having said all that we come back to the question of plates and restrictions. On the one hand it would appear that you don't want deregulation because as drivers we would suffer not to mention the travelling public with every Tom, Dick or Horatio able to enter the trade. Not to mention the problems for the gangster scum in the industry who are selling plates for tens of thousands. If every fcker was allowed into the trade they wouldn't be worth two bob. The plates reduced to the value of the gangsters.

If on the other hand there is over restriction two bob arseholes will be making a fortune while others will be forced to scrape a living often operating illegally and once again the travelling public will suffer.

It seems to me a proper debate is needed on this issue and I think you can rest assured that the GMB will be addressing this issue. However with halfwits who won't join up never mind get active it is difficult for us to address everything at once.

The position our Secretary has adopted given the current circumstances is spot on but we need to develop the ideas.

So stop hiding behind pseudonyms, stop ducking the issues, stop bottling, join up and get stuck in.

A pseudonym (Greek: ψευδώνυμον, pseudónymos – literally "given a name by error, lie name" from Greek: τὸ ψεύδος, pseúdos – the lie and Greek: ὄνομα, ónoma – the name); pseudo + -onym: false name) is an artificial, fictitious name, also known as an alias, used by an individual as an alternative to a person's legal name.

In the trade I am known as hopper, and when my mates greet me they "say hello hopper"!!!

Do your mates when they greet you say "hello south london cab"

Restrictions of hackney carriages are either right or wrong in most sensible people's minds. Most sensible people have a view on that.

What you are saying is that part of the GMB will say there good, while another part will say they are not good. In other words your view of the GMB is they are morally corrupt and will agree with anyone that gives them money.

Right or wrong?

Why not be honest and just say you haven't a clue?

Hopper I live in a world that has people like the Gen Sec of the GMB in it.
Someone who knows nothing about the trade outside of London, and precious little about it inside.
He knows nothing about the sections of the Road Safety Act, like the section which allows a council to take away a license and the driver has to starve until his appeal. Which could be up to a year.
He knows nothing about the sections that end the unlicensed loop-holes.
Did the GMB respond to the consultations? No because it didn't involve an attack on the Queen or a pat on the back for Irish murderers. That's the GMB minicab section for you.
He now has decided that restricting taxis is a good thing, unless you are a member that doesn't want restrictions, when then they are a bad thing.
Being all things to all people might get you a few members stupid enough to sign, but it leaves the GMB minicab union as morally corrupt.
I asked a simple question as to why not campaign for PH limitation if hackney carriage limitation is such a good thing. But he never answered because he hasn't a clue.
All he has is a wagon full of empty promises and a cupboard full of lies.
