23 Nov 2007 5:36 PM Alert

I know this has been asked before but has anyone sent there CRB off recently and got it back in a short time.  Ive applied for my Taxi licence and im just waiting on the CRB check in which was recieved by them on November 1st , ive rang and they have said its at the last stage with the police , ive never been in any trouble and had another CRB check done in august 07 and it came back okay in about 2 weeks.  I know im being a bit hasty here but ive currently been made redundant so Id like to get up and running and start earning money in my taxi with Christmas fast approaching.

To add to what I said, if you get your car plated before you have a badge you will not be able to legally drive it!!!

As for a meter fitter just go down the rank and sound out some of the boys, they are mostly good blokes.

Don't pay to much attention to the gobby female genetalia's but listen to the sensible one's, they will put you right!

I'm waiting for a CRB check to come through as well. Isn't it ridiculous that they can't expedite it if it's only been a few months since your last one (lets face it if you are applying for a CRB 3 months since your last one you it's still going to be clean and/or the police haven't caught you yet).

My auntie sent her CRB off just before the post strike and got it back after the strike , it only took 4 weeks with the strike going on , Ive had to take a job labouring at the moment to get me some money over christmas , I was on site the other day p***** wet through in the rain and kept seeing taxi's go by and I was thinking that will be me soon , waiting for this CRB check is doing my head in big style especially because I know its clear.

Hey cool.  All of my Dad's family are from Parr.

Isn't the CRB bureau in Merseyside?  I hate beurocracy.   Mind you Milly, it'll all be sorted soon and you'll be wizzing around trying to find house numbers at night, in a badly planned/numbered street, in the pouring rain, before you know it.

Though I'm heading off in another direction with my job now, taxi driving was by far the funniest job I ever had.  I've never laughed so much in all my life.  Passengers can be so fudging funny!

Lucy x
