Pedestrian dies after taxi crash
Police are appealing for witnesses after the death of a pedestrian who was hit by a car in Derbyshire.

The accident happened at about 0300 BST on Sunday on a northbound section of the A38 between Ripley and Alfreton.

A red Peugeot 406 taxi was travelling along the A38 when it struck the pedestrian, causing fatal injuries, officers said.

Derbyshire Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the accident or saw anyone walking on the A38.
