Received an invite from Brian Rowland to meet him and George Walker at this conf. Upon arriving i found myself on a table with amongst others, Steve Wright LPHCA, Someone from Transport Operational Command Unit, [he was delighted] and Norman Deegan the top man from our old mates the NTA, naturally i took some time ti have an in depth chat with Norman, gained the impression his Org definitely Proprietor orientated. Told him of my contacts with Wayne Casey, and Trevor Jones, and was suprised to find out he had no knowledge of their activities on various web sites, and WCs recent support for a RACIST demo in London.We then discussed the so called meeting of minds and he hoped to see me at the next one! Naturally i gave him the addresses of the sites.Also there was a delegation on T&G hack drivers from Liverpool, on sitting with them i was told "your reputation preceeds you, your upposed to be a trouble maker! i said i was and they said how can you be a trade unionist without being one?" Also briefed them indepth on TOCU! and expect to see them again shortly.
Only made a couple of contributions one on our members belief that the Topographical Test in London was being corrupted, Steve Wright was delighted! and another to point out that TOCU were flaming useless and very likely RACIST the copper sitting next to me was of course extreemely gratefull for that.
Had Dinner in the evening as the guest of Brian Rowland where we discussed the prospects of our 2 Orgs working closer together in the future, an interesting prospect was driver education we expect now to increase our mutual co-operation. Altogether an interesting day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
