20 Oct 2007 4:41 PM Alert

TFL have approved additional signage for private hire drivers.TFL board have approved the changes to regulations needed to allow exemption to proceed. The milestone date for these changes in red route regulations is given as 29/10/07.the pco will be writing to all operators to advise of the implementation date.TFL will issue the new signage through licensed operators at the appropriate time.PRIVATE HIRE VEHICLES WILL NOT BE PERMITTEDTO STOP ON RED ROUTES UNTIL THEY ARE SHOWING SIGNS in addition to the existing discs, the carriage office will issue guidance on precisely what the new exemptions will allow drivers to do

SO THE END IS IN SIGHT,no longer will hard working drivers be penalised  just for doing a job, this has been a long and hard fight, which has been won by negotiation and political lobbying involving the GMB, D2D campainers, LPCHA, and many more.

THE MESSAGE IS CLEAR unite and fight for your rights ,if we can win an argument in the capital, then we can help you if you become a part of the process, any association can seek to join the GMB

And soon to came Bus Lanes, this victory was achieved by all sections of the industry working in UNISON on one issue, of course the proprietors orgs dont pretend like the NTA that they can sit on both sides of the fence, when we have a ruck we have it, mormally behind closed doors! and we are highly successfull on our members behalf.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
