TFL have approved additional signage for private hire drivers.TFL board have approved the changes to regulations needed to allow exemption to proceed.The milestone date for these changes in red route regulations is given as 29/10/07.the pco will be writing to all operators to advise of the implementation date.TFL will issue the new signage through licensed operators at the appropriate time.PRIVATE HIRE VEHICLES WILL NOT BE PERMITTEDTO STOP ON RED ROUTES UNTIL THEY ARE SHOWING SIGNS in addition to the existing discs,the carriage office will issue guidance on precisely what the new exemptions will allow drivers to do
SO THE END IS IN SIGHT,no longer will hard working drivers be penalised just for doing a job, this has been a long and hard fight,which has been won by negotiation and political lobbying involving the GMB, D2D campainers, LPCHA, and many more.
