David G I am not Sussex , or this Mark , but from what I have read it seems the GMB have well and truly shafted him, but that is not unusual I would think. |

TF about 40 delegates turned up representing many areas,our argument is that drivers need an organisation that dosnt pretend to support drivers and cries local issue when push comes to shove. as we are told happens with the NTA frequently, indeed at one meeting they took 2 hrs to discuss the menu at a forthcoming soirez, while other industrial issues were on the agenda.I have no issue with the NTA other than that i believe its a proprietors org, we believe drivers need in this day and age a powerful, democratic union ie GMB, where discussing menus is deemed irrelevant to MEMBERS needs.

What the GMB needs is some body that has some sort of understanding in regard to the way the Taxi Trade works , and not somebody who hasn't got a clue .  |

I managed to contact the NTA yesterday and spoke to a feller with a very funny accent he was extremely polite and explained how the NTA works , and even offered me a free toaster if I joined. |

I have read some of his dribble on another site , the ramblings of a deranged mind.... IMO power mad but without the true essence of leadership.... now that fella from the NTA that I was speaking to the other day was making sense, at least he had root knowledge of the trade and a really good plan on how to bring it together, I did not agree at first , but the more I have thought about it, the more I think it could work . |
