Guys, I don't see why you are all having a go at Terry. We have a good and effective local association in Crawley that has achieved much for its members ( and unfortunately for all the bums who can't put their hand in their pocket and actually join the assn). However, that didn't stop us joining the GMB because while we may be able to talk to and influence our local authority, it certainly doesn't give us influence at a higher level or the clout of 600,000 members nationally, and financially. On a personal level Terry's member benefits are genuinly impressive, especially the recently introduced sick pay insurance scheme which I am about to join. Have a look at the message lads before you shoot the messenger. |

well put allo allo
if terry put his thoughts and views over aswell as you and mr branch president then terry wouldnt get the response he does
im personally sick of hearing about we offer this and that. i and probably 90% of others arent intrested in fringe benefits but what you can do to sort out a problem or the advice you have to offer.
i bet he's stopped more people joining than he as in getting to sign up, he's aggravating, annoying and bloody repetitive.
i have NO DOUBT his heart and concerns are for the industry but should take a step back and listen or read as in this case to whats been said, im not the 1st or last to raise this point about terry, so are we all wrong and he's right.
terry back off the bad mouthing of other associations and brag about what your union as achieved and how its done it !
keep away from constantly repeating thse fringe benefits for goodness sake.
think it was the user Denise who said your losing impact by constantly putting it in every post you do or comparing what you have to offer against other assoc's.
dont worry about them, concentrate on what your doing !
otherwise i hope you have a good weekend terry |
