How many here have had to accept warnings over trivial complaints from over zealous licencing officers? ...... over refusing to take punters for one reason or another and when interrogated by such licensing officers.... they don't believe a  f.....g word you say! and when they can't find anything substantial to verify the complaint which is generally fabricated and specified so as to drop you in the sh1te they give you a written warning threat saying that next time you do it it may result in suspension / revocation of such licence which seems to me a form of victimisation....... when they know full well that you have no proof of such evidence unless you can equip your vehicle with the latest cctv..... they just don't believe you...... do you think this is fair and what do you do to get back at the bar stewards?

It is interesting to read your views about a possible use of CCTV in taxis.  Normally the equipment is installed to protect the driver from assault by the disgruntled, drunk, doped-up passengers.  Have you actually considerded fitting a camera?  It's mere presence deters attack, and makes the passengers behave much better - them you don't have to refuse to take them.

Mail me on itrew@verifeye.com and I'll let you know all about it.

Well I know you are touting for business matey but I wasn't refering to the customer anyway..... I'm talking about the stupid Licensing Officer (Winchester) who incidently  is a bloody vindictive barsteward to all of us here...... ask any cabbie here and he will tell you that!!...... Any suggestions please! as long as it has the desired effect like the sack from his post would be a good start !!

Personally I don't take anyone if I feel that I can't trust them, or I take the estimated fare up front which most decent customers are happy to pay if asked politely, which I do, and if dont know them. More often than not when I give them the change when they arrive at destination, tell me to keep it!! bonus!!

So I am a seasoned cabbie of twenty two years and would welcome cctv if our council would be good enough to help us with the cost!!  bring it on..... 'cause I cant afford it at present as I know many can't up and down the land!!

Thanks but no thanks for the offer mate ....... maybe you should get on to Winchester City Council  Licensing ...... 01962 848179   where maybe you could do a deal with them on a discount basis to get your business going this way.....

Just a thought.......
