Delivering more customers to your licensed taxi firm

cabzone.co.uk is a new national service that generates income for taxi companies by making their telephone numbers instantly accessible to millions of people looking to get to or from pubs, bars, universities nightclubs, airports, golf clubs and, in fact, anywhere in the UK.

cabzone.co.uk utilises existing mobile phone signal tracking technology to locate a customer’s phone signal to as near as 50 yards.

All a potential client needs to do is text CAB to 88080 and within seconds the telephone numbers of three local licensed taxi firms will be sent directly to their mobile regardless of where they are in the UK.

cabzone.co.uk’s partner company, Hi-Tech Media Ltd, owns 25,000 highly prominent washroom panels throughout pubs, bars, nightclubs, universities, golf clubs, etc, reaching a staggering 20 million people in the UK per month.

The posters encourage the customer to save CAB 88080 to their phone, therefore guaranteeing them access to three local cab numbers regardless of where they are in the UK.

If people don’t save the number, that’s okay, the advertising campaign in bars, clubs, universities and similar venues is sustained to a high level all year round – they will find it when and where they need it.

Supporting the constant poster campaign will be a series of national initiatives, the first of which will be a full page advert in Loaded Magazine – circulation 250,000 per month - and an advert on the Loaded monthly email newsletter.

George Hudson from cabzone.co.uk said: “We piloted cabzone.co.uk in December and January and the results have been phenomenal with thousands of texts being received. Our intention is to make texting CAB to 88080 THE way to find the number of a local taxi firm.

We expected the service to be a success, but what really surprised us was that the service was not only used during historically busy periods of the week, but that we generated steady traffic throughout each day.

Our service is so easy and uncomplicated to use - it instantly delivers taxi numbers relevant to where a customer texts in from. That’s it. That’s what people want – why make it any more complicated?

Also, from a safety and comfort aspect, our service reduces the risk of people taking a gamble and finding themselves in an unlicensed taxi. It’s far easier for them to use our service, call a cab, and wait in a safe place for it to arrive.”

Shortly, cab firms will be able to guarantee that their numbers will be included in the texts that our clients receive. Post code areas will be able to be secured online for only £7.99 per month.

Details on how to enrol your cab firm will be in next month’s Taxi Today magazine, but you can test the service today to see how your cab firm could be represented by texting CAB to 88080. Texts cost £1 plus your standard network charge. This service is not currently available on Virgin and 3 mobile networks.

i can see how it gets around cross border hiring because the number they get will go directly to the office where your licensed.

so i could if i so desired, select post codes in adjoining licensing areas [city centres where the bars / night clubs are] and because the call comes into my office where im licensed i can do the job with no cross border issues.

like the idea of that.

can anyone on here tell me if ive misunderstood the cross border hiring issue on where the call as to be taken.

What a cracker of an idea!!! This sounds a sure fire way to get round the snobby Hotel receptionists and concierge's who always call there mates cabs to ensure there back handers stay in there pockets. This gives the cab user total openess to call who they want!! Bring it on... when does it go live and how big is the cost ???
