02 Feb 2008 2:41 PM Alert

My local Authority have called in all the E7,Doblos and similar type vehicle,to show there VCA by a certain date or they will be suspended until it can be shown. This they say has been brought to there attention that certain vehicle need a VCA.     We believe the test is for veichicles that have been adapted to be wheelchair accessable. As there are only 2 London taxis in our area (1 a TX1 and mine being a TX2)  our Local Authority are asking for a VCA off ourselves as well, and the test is around £200 ,but as the LTI is purpose built and not adapted,is this required?  If its any help the say we must apply for a Voluntary Single Vehicle Standard Test Class PD (Personal Import and Disabled Persons Veichle). This request is made under section 68 of the Town Polices Clauses Act 1847.

I think basically my question is do black cabs need a VCA.

Thanks Rob.
