I bought the new model Peugeot E7 in November 2007. I would just like to let you guys know just what a pile of junk this vehicle is and you should think very carefully before buying one new or second hand.
There have been problems from day one, and at just over 2 years old it has had the following repairs done, some on warranty, but most out of my pocket. So many things are NOT covered on either of the warranties or have a ridiculously low mileage limit.
Aerial fell off roof – glove compartment door fell off so did drawer next to it – handbrake cable snapped twice! – clutch replaced 4 times – flywheel replaced twice – anti roll bar joints replaced twice – cv boots replaced twice – air con repaired several times – intercooler leaking oil –engine mount gone – alternator replaced – high pressure fuel pump replaced – rear passengers seat belt kept jamming main dealer gave up after several attempts in the end I repaired it – wheelchair ramp comes out of track, really difficult to get it back in – rear cabin floor is collapsing where not man enough for job and jamming ramp – ramp flap loosened due to fixings not strong enough and plastic cover broken and fell apart - side step repaired or replaced so many times I have lost count – electrics shorted out the rear cabin lights – front passengers door handle snapped off – drivers door window regulator blown – front passengers seat, all adjustment levers broken after just a few months ( they are so flimsy I’m surprised that they worked at all ! ) - driver’s seat completely collapsed after a few months – front dash cupboard doors won’t stay shut – rear sliding doors need several attempts to close them – rear door sliding rail, all paint bubbled and came off – front air vent jammed after first week – both front wishbones replaced twice, cost £1000 ! – rear tailgate won’t open correctly – top box sprung a leak into the meter housing – rear tail light cluster so poorly made that it disintegrated after just 3 bulb changes – pedal rubbers came off after 2 months – the whole door locking system both back and front gone wrong so many times I would need 2 pages to list them all – gear shift lever grommet disintegrated after 2 months – wheelchair clamps do not hold the wheelchair down sufficiently – and been recalled several times to correct design faults – rear tailgate is actually plastic. So don’t put any stickers on it or you will have a nasty mess when you come to remove them.
It is now my firm belief that this vehicle is so poorly made that it is not fit for the purpose of a taxi I am a calm driver with 34 years experience and have never known any vehicle to be so very shoddily made as this one.
And to conclude….I was told at the time of purchase that the PX value after 2.5 years would be approx equal to the amount left on finance. Our settlement figure is currently £18000 and we have been offered just £9000 PX!
I used to say jokingly that if they could have got away with using tissue paper and old plastic cups to manufacture it they would have done….but I’m now thinking that they did just that!

Alan…Very poor E7 hackney driver!
