I'm sorry if this querie has appeared before but I was unable to find it and I would like some clarity on the subject.

" if two or more hackney taxis park up on the roadside not in an authorized rank with for hire lights on, thereby, forming an illegal rank. They are approached by a member of the public who request to be taken somewhere, and they do" is that driver still insured even though he has broken his terms and conditions??

As with private hire drivers who pick up illegal fares and are fined and given points on their licence for having no insurance. I understand that the issue for PH drivers is that their insurance is for PH only, but in the case of hackney drivers who have breeched their terms and conditions by failing to pick up in a rank or by being flagged down I fail to see how they can be insured.
I would like concrete proof and not just hear say please.
