I have worked in both regulated and non-regulated areas so have been on both sides of the fence.

 

I do have sympathy for owner-drivers that have bought their plates and are looking at the prospect of deregulation.

 

But, I am now in a non-regulated area, it does find it’s own level the way mini-cabs do.

do you think that would happen in all cases though hopper ?


what about places that depend on tourism such as blackpool / bournemouth etc
what about when the holiday season ends ? what do all the new drivers do that have jumped on the band wagon.
maybe that it happens already with seasonal drivers working spring summer and then moving onto something else over autumn winter

Point taken roadrunner it may not work in all areas in the short time but eventualy it does sort it's self out.

 

I was near to Clacton-on-Sea (an unregulated erea) when I worked in Colchester and as you say the drivers there would do something else during the winter period.
