Hello,as from today,Cardiff Airport have brought in their new "stealth" parking charges.
Anybody unlucky enough to have parked in the "20 minutes free" car park, were somewhat shafted, when leaving the car park after 10 minutes, were charged £1.
Also, from today, for the privelege of dropping "THEIR" customers off, outside the Terminal,it also costa £1.
You do have the "FREE" option of dropping in a Car Park on the approach road, which is very helpful,if you have 4 x suitcases and children.
Why does this sad excuse for an airport, continue to shoot itself ,spectacularly in the foot, and charge "THEIR CUSTOMERS" ,which im guessing, pay approx. £20-£30 per person ,for the privelege of flying from there,an added car drop off charge?
Also, the much hailed "Cardiff international Airport rail station",which requires a feeder coach, between the Rail Station and Airport, will now have the feeder coach stopped,as Cardiff Airport will no longer subsidise this transport,to once again, bring "THEIR CUSTOMERS",to and from the Terminal.
I for one, will always fly from Bristol Airport, even though Cardiff Airport is 20 minutes from my house, because it is run professionally, has more destinations, and looks after its passengers.
Rant Over!

Nothing unusual about the £1 charge, Birmingham Airport have been doing it for years. Luton Airport is even worse, I can not remember now as it's been so long since I did any actual driving myself.

Other airports around the world also have small charges for dropping off and picking up on the terminal forecourt. It's the sign of the times I'm afraid. You just have to pass the charges on to your customers.
