Hi, first post for me, this is regarding a new regulation regarding vehicles in the gateshead area,ph and hac's. they have added a new policy regarding window tints, front screen 75% and drivers window 70% all well and good as this is the vlt regulation and basicaly the law, but what they have done is now added there own rule which states rear door windows and rear window light allowed must be no less than 70%,this has caused a lot of problems as the gmbc themselves requested any vehicle to be plated must now be no older than 3 years of age, so a lot uf us went out and bought new vehicles to improve teh standard of cabs in the area as the council required us to do,and a lot of those have tinted glass, especially the rear glass and a lot of those, mine included have only 60% of teh light passed through the rear door glass and rear screen(this standard glass for the model car), this is as the law states not included in the vlt as it is rear glass, these vehicles have been tested and plated in teh past up until now, the council is suspending plates of the vehicles who do not comply with the rear glass test they have set up unless you replace your glass in teh vehicle, this in turn will de-value the vehicle and i believe you are actually modifying the vehicle by doing this, can they actually enforce this as the rear glass isnt required by law to be included in a vehicle light test.i simply cant afford to replace the glass in my car as is the same with a lot of other drivers up here. |
