just  a read a post on licensing regarding GMB and NTA.

it made me ask myself, why would anyone leave an association to join a union when you've been in your association for a while and was mainly happy with the association. not always agreeing with it, but who does anyway. but to walk away from that association must mean something had gone on or is there the fact of full time employment within the GMB be the reason. nothing wrong with wanting a steady job and within the trade you enjoy. but why not be honest with everyone and state its for the money and promise of a full time role, rather than blaming policy   i'd of thought the prospect of having Terry Flannigan  as your boss more of a reason to stay where you were

We are suggesting the Associations come over en-bloc they would maintain substantial autonomy!
you misunderstand Unions we dont have Bosses, we have elected officials!
I already have a full time role and have had it for the past 3 years my interest is to assist the drivers within the industry to control their own enviroment.
We can increase the power of associations and therefore the drivers, if your happy with the present situation do nothing!

My latest information is that a number of the Gateshead association arent too hapy with their GMBPDB membership and might not get past month 2 of their payments.

surely a couple of months isnt very long to give anything time to see if its going to work.

who pays their subs ? as i heard in Brighton that it was a operator who paid his drivers subs so as to make sure they had enough members to start up the association, is that the same with Gateshead in this instance ?
