Hi,
The legal aspect of having CCTV in your TAXI will depends on 2 issues;
1) The Data Protection Act - Any CCTV system you have installed would have to meet the strict Data Protection Act in order for any footage to be used in court as evidence.
2) Your Local Plating Council - Every council rules are different. From our experiences of dealing the various UK Taxi Plating councils, each have there own guidlines on CCTV in cab.
If you are considering CCTV for your Taxi, my advice to you would be to speak to your local council plating office on what guidlines there have in place for CCTV. This will help you find the right solution.
On a side note.... ALL our cctv systems are tailor made to meet your individual requirements and meet all the strict data protection act. If you require more information on our system/service please visit our website www.mobilecctvdirect.co.uk or call on 0845 463 7869.
Thanks & Kind Regards
